POCATELLO, Idaho, Sept. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ (as posted on PR Newswire)

LA Semiconductor LLC (“LA Semiconductor” or “the Company”), a US-owned, fully operational pure-play semiconductor foundry for analog, digital and mixed-signal products, today announced it has engaged Macquarie Group to oversee the marketing and sale of its wafer fabrication facility with backend capability located in Pocatello, Idaho.

Located on a 31-acre campus, the Pocatello, Idaho fab stands as a testament to the Company’s commitment to bolstering domestic semiconductor manufacturing, with room to more than double in size as needed. The facility currently produces technologies ranging from 0.18µm to 1.5µm digital, analog, and mixed-signal BCD, CMOS, bipolar, MEMS, and advanced discrete technologies, with photolithography capabilities to go to 0.13µm. The site boasts over 57,000 square feet of cleanroom space, with an additional 16,000 square feet for clean room expansion, and more than 554,000 square feet of building space. It also includes a prototype assembly lab and 7,000 square feet of probe and test lab cleanroom space.

The Pocatello fab, including its site, installed equipment and related assets, will be marketed and sold under the guidance of the semiconductor and technology team within Macquarie’s Commodities and Global Markets business.

“The Pocatello fab is at its most stable and efficient operational level since its acquisition from onsemi in October 2022, supported by process improvements and the development of proprietary intellectual property. This includes 0.35µm and 0.5µm technologies, which have enhanced the fab’s immediate utility and long‑term value for purchasers seeking de‑risked mixed-signal capacity expansion in the United States,” said Tony Little, Co-General Manager of LA Semiconductor. “The success of operations in the fab are largely due to its people, with over 35% of engineering and maintenance staff having over 10 years’ experience at the Company.”

Pat Sedlmayer, Co-General Manager, stated, “Buyers are prioritizing ready-to-run brownfield fabs that can be brought online faster with fewer execution risks than greenfield builds, boosting market activity inside the United States. The decision to sell the Pocatello facility aligns with our strategic objectives to streamline and maximize operations and focus on being an ITAR registered, onshore semiconductor foundry.”

LA Semiconductor remains dedicated to its mission of providing reliable, high-quality semiconductor components that meet and exceed customer specifications. The Company will continue to operate with a focus on delivering custom, high-performance semiconductor solutions to industries such as automotive, defense, aerospace, medical, industrial and commercial.

“Demand for onshoring semiconductor manufacturing in the United States has never been stronger, with recent global supply chain disruptions highlighting the strategic importance of domestic production and driving increased investment and innovation in the sector,” commented Brian Lee, Associate Director in Macquarie Group’s Commodities and Global Markets business. “Now is the ideal time to invest in a fab such as LA Semiconductor—leveraging government incentives, advanced discrete technologies, and a skilled workforce.”

Macquarie’s semiconductor and technology team has over 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, having completed more than 50 fab disposition projects and facilitated over $3.5 billion in semiconductor equipment sales.
