Manufacturing Engineer

LA Semiconductor is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for the WIE (Wafer Inspection Engineering) team. The WIE (Wafer Inspection Engineering) group monitors the Fab production line for particles and other defects. As a Manufacturing Engineer at LA Semiconductor, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement manufacturing strategies that align with company goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Own key documentation of OOC events for defect inspection scans, ensure material is triaged through holds in a timely manner
  • Drive root cause investigations of current scrap/near-miss defect scan events
  • Serve as application administrator for factory DMS system (Klarity)
  • Own and drive improvements to wafer inspection SPC (production scan control)
  • Work with manufacturing engineering to improve equipment SPC
  • Interface between wafer inspection engineering and the process engineering teams by providing data that will decide how to use limited engineer hours and resources
  • Own and update controlled documentation related to defect metrology process functions
  • Manage fab event and/or excursion response
  • Serve as backup tool owner for defect inspection tools (bare wafer, patterned, and review platforms)

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills, understanding of SPC and DOE
  • The ability to establish objectives, timelines, and goals for projects and drive them to ensure that work is completed within the required timeframe
  • Basic understanding of semiconductor manufacturing process integration strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to interact productively with other team members
  • Experience with Klarity preferred
  • KLA tool experience a plus
  • Be flexible to take on assignments that are necessary to meet the group, fab and corporate expectations
  • Scripting experience strongly preferred (SQL, Matlab, Excel VBA, Python, or R)

Education Requirements:

  • BS in Engineering, Physics, Math/Statistics, Material Science, Chemistry or a related field is required
