Environmental Engineer

Established in 2022, LA Semiconductor is a US Owned and Operated, Fully Operational, Pure-Play Semiconductor Foundry for Analog, Mixed Signal, and Power Products

LA Semiconductor is looking for Environmental Engineer to find creative design solutions to pressing environmental problems, requiring a good deal of creative thinking and problem-solving skills. The Environmental Engineer is responsible for designing programs/technology to assist in environmental conservation, evaluating systems to determine the impact of commercial activity, and advising policymakers on environmental best practices. Integrates Environmental performance objectives into standard work processes. Develops strategies to achieve these goals in alignment with the site business goals and values. Assists all operations managers in understanding compliance measures and supports change management applications as required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide Industrial Engineering Support in terms of product flow, equipment & manning capacity modeling, facility design & layout and productivity improvements
  • To provide Industrial Engineering expertise such as simulation, process mapping and work method study for productivity improvement projects
  • Liaise with facility and EHS department to ensure compliance to safety regulations.
  • To develop equipment and manning capacity model for new product and maintain equipment and manning capacity model for existing lines
  • Provide support in factory cost reduction project through benchmarking and Lean Six Sigma
  • Optimize and maintain OEE (Operational Equipment Effectiveness) measurement systems and metrics
  • Provide support for Manufacturing and other departments
  • Responsible for standard settings, methods improvements, and systems/reports improvements to ensure that valued added work is performed in the most efficient manner possible

  • In depth EHS background
  • Thorough understanding of Industrial Engineering practices, principles, and concepts including LEAN, 6-Sigma and other Operational Excellence techniques
  • Project Management skills
  • Superb analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills are essential including SQL, statistical software (JMP), VISIO (or other flow chart software), AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office (WORD, Excel, Power Point)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor/master’s degree in industrial/chemical/mechanical engineering
  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience; semiconductor manufacturing a plus
